Lunch and Performances December 5, 12, 19, 2015
Theatre for the wee ones in mind, and still fun for the entire family! And a lunch, to boot!
Enjoy the physical humor and witty banter of our poor, but merry, band of traveling performers – Arlequin, Punchin, Columbine, Rosetta, Pantalone, and Scaramouch – as they tell their own version of the classic children’s tale.
Puss in Boots is the story of the foolish youngest son of a miller, who follows the advice of a clever cat in extraordinary footwear to achieve nobility and a fine marriage. Of course, the players (Columbine, Arlequin, Punchin, Scaramouch, Rosetta and Pantalone) embellish the story with their own form of magic. There’s a laundry list of laughs for children of all ages!
Performed in the style of Commedia dell-arte – which is Italian for “comedy of the professional artists” – a popular form of theatre since the 15th century. It is the fore-father of slapstick comedy as performed by the Marx Brothers and just about any animated features by productions companies such as Disney, Pixar, and Dreamworks.
Suggested ages are 4 year olds to adults! Tickets just $10.
Doors open at 11:00 am. Lunch starts at 11:20 am.
Performance at noon and done by one!
